St. Mary’s Primary School is conveniently located – easily accessible from Crossgar, Downpatrick, Belfast and Lisburn.
The school enjoys an attractive elevated site on the outskirts of Saintfield, close to Rowallane Gardens.
School accommodation comprises three classrooms, a multi-purpose gym/dining hall, a designated library/computer area, staffroom and administrative block. The school is wheelchair accessible. The corridors are bright and cheerful with an array of the children’s mural work and the assembly hall has a well-designed climbing frame to promote the children’s physical development.
Spacious playgrounds are surrounded by fields and mature trees and amenities available to the children include a climbing frame, balance beams, sensory garden, and pond.
A community playgroup is located onsite. The school also provides pre-school care in the form of a Breakfast Club which runs from 8am and After School Care for children until 5pm daily.
Children visit the church of Mary, Mother of the Church in preparation for the sacraments of First Penance, First Communion, and Confirmation. We are proud of our close links to the Parish of Saintfield and Carrickmannon and enjoy celebrating feast days, Easter, and Christmas at the church.
At St. Mary’s Primary School, we offer tuition in violin, keyboard and flute from visiting tutors. We also attend Young Voices and Cross Border concerts which provide our choir with choral opportunities.
